Insurance is a tool. Strategy comes first.

Most people meet insurance as a quote. Kevin Dueck starts somewhere better — with the protection you already have, the risks that actually matter to your household or business, and the decision that fits. All in service of one thing: protecting the life you’re building.

No pressure. No obligation. Just a conversation to understand what matters most.

One conversation. A bigger picture.

We look at how your coverage fits together — not one product in isolation.

Review what you already have first.

Before anything new, we understand your current protection and its gaps.

Compare strategies, not just premiums.

The cheapest premium and the right fit are rarely the same plan.

A different starting point

Good coverage doesn’t begin with a product. It begins with understanding.

Most people encounter insurance as a quote — a number attached to a policy they may not fully understand. Kevin begins with your household’s actual situation instead: what you’re responsible for, what you’d need to protect, and the risks worth planning around.

See how Kevin works
  • Family responsibilities — who depends on you, and for what.
  • Income protection — what would need to continue.
  • Existing health coverage — the plan realities behind it.
  • Providers & prescriptions — what you can’t afford to lose.
  • Business responsibilities — partners, employees, continuity.
  • Financial exposure — the gaps between coverage and reality.
  • Personal priorities — what keeps you steady.
Ways Kevin helps

Different needs. One consistent approach.

Each of these is a starting point for a conversation — not a product pushed at everyone.

Living Benefits

Protection isn’t only about what happens after death. Some coverage may help during life if certain serious conditions occur.

Self-employed & business owners

When there’s no employer plan, the decisions are yours. Kevin helps you weigh coverage against cash flow and risk.

An original framework

Two different starting points. One goal: a strategy that fits you.

There’s more than one way to think about covering health costs. Kevin helps you look at each honestly — the cost, the access, the protection, and the risks each one leaves on the table — so the choice is yours to make with clear eyes.

Bookend one

Traditional major-medical coverage

Cost
Monthly premiums, which may be reduced by financial assistance for those who qualify.
Access
A defined provider network, prescription coverage, and covered essential health benefits.
Protection
Deductibles and an annual out-of-pocket maximum on covered, in-network essential care.

Remaining risks: out-of-network care, non-covered services, and the income and household disruption a major event can still cause.

Bookend two

Cash-pay / self-insure investigation

Cost
Paying routine care directly, and setting aside resources for the medical costs you choose to retain.
Access
Often broad provider choice for self-pay care, with pricing that varies by provider.
Protection
May be paired with separate supplemental products for specific events — which are not major-medical insurance.

Remaining risks: a serious or prolonged event can create large, uncapped exposure that the household retains.

Living Benefits can be considered alongside either path.

Certain life-policy accelerated benefits or separate supplemental products may help with specific serious events — depending on the product and its terms. They complement, rather than replace, major-medical coverage.

Educational only. This compares general approaches, not specific plans, and neither is universally better. Supplemental and cash-pay arrangements are not ACA major-medical insurance and do not duplicate it. Availability, eligibility, and terms depend on the product and your situation.

Protection beyond the medical bill

What if a serious health event changes more than your medical bills?

A major diagnosis or injury rarely stays in one column. It can ripple outward — which is exactly why Kevin looks past premiums alone.

The event A serious illness or injury
Medical expenses

Deductibles, cost-sharing, and services that coverage may not fully address.

Income disruption

Time away from work for treatment and recovery — for the patient or a caregiver.

Household obligations

The mortgage, bills, and everyday costs that don’t pause during a hard season.

Recovery & travel

Rehabilitation, care, and travel to specialists that add up outside the hospital bill.

Depending on the policy, certain qualifying accelerated life-insurance benefits or separate supplemental cash-benefit products may help address some of these risks. They aren’t automatic, and they aren’t a substitute for medical coverage — but they’re worth understanding.

Important. Living benefits are not payable simply because a diagnosis occurs; eligibility depends on the policy’s qualifying conditions, definitions, and terms. Accelerating a life-insurance benefit reduces the policy’s remaining death benefit. Product availability and features vary.
